There is much discussion about TIF money spending and reclassification of districts. There is a great deal to know about this topic, more than can be covered in this blog posting. Just know that decisions are imminent. The Board is hoping to achieve a reduction in your taxes, maintain a safety margin for unforeseen expenditures, and return millions to the tax rolls which will benefit the education members in our tax district.
Learn about the TIF funds http://www.cows.org/pdf/rp_tif.pdf. Then watch my blog for updates. As the board moves forward a public hearing will be announced, probably late March to late April. Watch your mailbox and be prepared to share your views with this blog, your neighbors and at the hearing.
A place for village concerns and discussion, national politics, updates on the Sherwood Forest G.C. Bluebird Trail and whatever else interests you.
Let the rebirth begin.

Sarah Palin Renews Down-To-Earth Politics
I've enjoyed an encouraging response by those who know me when I tell them I'm running for local office. Then I'm asked why now? I hate politics, the kind of detestable politics we've seen in many decades of government where political correctness and moderation of a position to win power has destroyed the ethics and integrity that are necessary in any public servant position. Local office is a venue for 'do-gooders' truly because there is so little power temptation to subvert good intention.
I attended a few Tea Party rallies in 2009 where local service was touted as one way to make a difference. Sarah Palin's convictions gave me the push to do so. If you share my views you can follow her facebook updates on http://www.facebook.com/sarahpalin. I believe it is my responsibility to do what I can to keep this community the special place I'll spend the rest of my life. I invite you to add your comments of support OR debate.

Wildlife in High Cliff
Since the DNR began issuing hunting licenses in our citizen owned state park many of you have been concerned about the loss of the deer. This buck was seen and photographed two springs before the hunting permits were approved. (You can find who voted for and against this in the village records.) And I'm happy to report he or perhaps a look alike has been seen again in all his splendor.
Village Trustee Candidate Announcement
I am announcing my candidacy for Sherwood Village Trustee. A long time resident of Sherwood I am deeply attached to this community and I'm eager to do all I can to maintain the integrity of our village, reduce taxes, and through this blog, give residents a readily available public forum for sharing concerns and praise. Should you elect me for Village Trustee I vow to use this blog to keep you informed in a timely fashion of meeting minutes, local activities, opinions and more. This blog provides opportunity for you to BE HEARD. In this age of instant messaging, there is no reason for delays in getting information out to the people who are impacted by our village issues. Thank you in advance for your interest, your participation and your vote.
